My father helped to design the Lunar Module. He also worked on designing the radar that went into the F 14 and Tomcat fighter jets. Both my parents had to attend briefings...sometimes twice weekly about the Russians trying to gain access to our sensitive information. The plant in which they worked eventually had to be moved to another location. After watching Sylvia's recommended video....( how can you speak that fast?) I am more convinced that America is one of the only countries that truly values human life. Compassion, respect and empathy for other people as well as animals must not be lost. Perhaps this war is a reminder of these important morals. Sylvia , I am 60 years. I am not sure how to interpret being called " Honey" by someone I do not know. That being said ...You as well..enjoy your weekend.

The only way that Putins war on Ukraine will end is if he is fascinated. Putin does pose a very very significant threat to all of the western countries and Europe in that he will never be satisfied in victory. It is my belief that if Putin feels that he is losing...he will restore to using chemical and nuclear weapons. Dictators are also narcissistic and will stop at nothing to achieve their goals. I believe that we are at the very very beginning of WW3

Sure, you can negotiate peace with Putin, but that will give him exactly what he wants, eastern Ukraine. First Crimea, then Ukraine, Who's next? Moldova, a small spec on the map that no one cares about. What stopped Hitler from his aggression? Do you think appeasement will stop Putin's aggressive ways? He longs for the good old days of the Soviet Union. How many countries do you want to give away in the name of peace and appeasement? That has never worked before. Unfortunately, it will not work now.

I think Mr. Eskow might have had something like this in mind: https://wordpress.com/post/gracchibros.wordpress.com/244

The title there is "Mariupol in ruins, sacrificed as a Ukrainian "Alamo," thousands packed off to Russian "filtration" camps; may I ask: Just what are Pres. Biden's and NATO's war goals in Ukraine now?"

it morphs into part of the entertainment scene - like Beyonce and her fellow dancers walking across the union workers' picket line. It also aids them in their ticket sales. But, as you say, does nothing for the Ukranian people.

I see a few of you write reports or news letters or blogs. Who cares. How many likes do you have? Who cares. You're caught up in a continuous circular cycle of confirmation. No different than QAnon believers feeding off themselves. Julie's post from Apr 7th that begins with BS says it all. Has our foreign policy been messed up for decades? Probably. Since WWII have we engaged in stupid and useless wars? Yep. But despite our wrong headedness, our aim has never been to take over and rule. Our actions, whether right or wrong (matter of opinion), don't happen in a vacuum. There are plenty of bad actors out there who want to take control for their own greed and power. Is our own Military Industrial Complex (MIC) a problem? I would say so. Do we have congressional members who are deep in the pockets of MIC, Big Pharma, Big Oil, etc.? Yep. Our country could be so much better than it is. We have a congress that ignores ethics, and we have a Supreme Court that thinks they're above having a code of ethics. The fox seems to be guarding the chicken coop. Russia will not stop with Ukraine. China is watching with great interest, because they want to take Taiwan. Should we have helped arm Ukraine before Russia invaded instead of waiting? Probably. It would have saved many Ukrainian lives, would have thwarted Russia's advances much sooner. But Russia isn't done. What we've seen so far is just phase 1. We delayed getting involved in WWII in Europe. Had we been involved sooner, perhaps millions of lives would have been saved. If we had not been involved at all, we would not have allies in Europe, we would be dealing with a fascist dictator in a very large country called Germany. Whether it's a bully on the school playground, or a bully dictator, it never pays to back down. It doesn't mean you have to go looking for war, but bullies have no intention of honestly negotiating. And don't go on about this generation or that generation. I see plenty of evidence that there are dingbats in all generations. One thing for certain. There will never be a shortage of 'leaders' who want power for themselves above all else.

JUST TELL US HOW. This is the problem. No one tells us HOW. All they talk about is "Russia will nuc and how to hide under the bed from WWIII with Russia/China/Iran/ all Islamists. JUST TELL US HOW BECAUSE THERE MUST BE A WAY AND IF ITS WWIII LETS GET IT OVER QUICKER THAN WHAT THE WORLD DID WITH GERMANY AND ALLOWING JAPAN TO TAKE ADVANTAGE. The longer we let it go, the more will come in to take advantage. The less we do the worse and bigger it be. We should have done BIG YESTERDAY.

America should NOT be encouraging Ukraine to enter NATO, but America is and that will lead to the deaths of many more people in Ukraine, and America knows this, but does not care. As usual America is a big part of the problem.
